Do you believe in miracles?

I do.

Several years ago, I heard of an attorney whose name struck fear in the minds of any adversary who crossed his path. The federal Justice Department despised him because he kept finding ways, (legally, I might add), no matter what popular opinion was, to see to it that the innocent people he defended got what they were entitled to.

That attorney’s name was Kirk D. Lyons, and he carried a mystique about him that made him seem much larger than life.  So much so, that when I finally got to know him, his explanation made me laugh.  “Everybody is entitled to a fair trial and due process under the law as provided by THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and that means EVERYBODY” were his exact words.

I had heard this all of my life but never really realized what it meant until I understood the sacrifices Kirk and his family have endured, along with the character assassinations against him that I have witnessed by people who find it easier to accept malicious rumors than to try to discover the truth.

Now, some five years later, as I step into the trenches with Kirk, I find that the truth about our Southern Heritage has been masked for so long and so effectively that the true history of the South is of little concern to those who think we would be better off to let our past be forgotten than to dredge up the possibility that little Confederate Southern American children should be proud of their ancestry.

I take the administrative helm of the SLRC as an interim Executive Director.  I take the helm knowing that we the staff are not here for financial gain, but because we all believe in the fight which we find ourselves in.  Salaries are in arrears....no health insurance...in dire need of more office space, and a multitude of other problems that no sane person would consider stepping into.  But, like Kirk and his bosom pal, HK, I truly believe in the cause for which we stand.  If we do not survive, we will at least be able to say that we died with our faces towards the enemies of constitutional sanity.

Compatriots, in the coming months you will see organizational changes designed to try to plug the dikes, or at least re-ballast the ship.  Our legal staff will continue as long as we have the funds available to proceed, but we need your help to work a miracle - NOW!

Below you will find a partial listing of areas we need help with, sponsorship by individuals or groups for all or part of any area would be greatly appreciated, and is totally tax deductible.

Existing Rent (Office) $  6,000.00/Year
Utilities $  4,800.00/Year
Phones $  7,500.00/Year
Office Supplies & Equipment $  4,500.00/Year
Legal Research & Associated $  20,000.00/Year
Newsletter & Website Maintenance $  28,000.00/Year
Vehicle Expenses  $  26,000.00/Year
Salaries $  90,000.00/Year
 TTL $184,800.00/Year

Of course there are variables, but these estimates are just a partial listing for our office of four (4) employees.  Broken down monthly, sponsorship of these expenses is well within the range of many groups and individuals.

Please prayerfully consider any assistance you may be willing to give and contact me if I can explain further our needs and your group’s sponsorship tailored to your ability to help.

Until we meet again I shall always be at your service,
