LET THE GREAT DEBATE ON CONFEDERATE SYMBOLS BEGIN

Dear Brother or Sister in error,

I, H.K. Edgerton, Life member NAACP, Chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Southern Legal Resource Center do hereby challenge any member, employee or officer of the NAACP to a debate on the legitimacy of Confederate symbols in the new millennium.  In addition I challenge the NAACP to debate the campaign of economic terrorism (disguised as a boycott) levied against the civil rights of South Carolina citizens and whether or not the boycott and anti-flag agitation is actually increasing racial tension.

I further extend the challenge to debate on the above topics to any anti-flag Chamber of Commerce, any anti-flag corporate CEO, any respected academician, any minister of the gospel, any elected official and any member of the 4th Estate.

I submit as my debating team myself, Dr. Neill H. Payne and Kirk D. Lyons. Those accepting the challenge should propose a 3 person team.

The debate must be open to the public or accessible to the public at a mutually agreeable forum.

The debate will be chaired by a neutral moderator agreed on by both parties.
