EEOC Case Filed on Behalf of
Confederate Southern American
Black Mountain, NC -
The Board of Directors of the SLRC announce today that Center has filed
a
discrimination claim with the Pittsburgh area EEOC on behalf of Curtis
Blaine Storey against Burns Security after Storey was fired for the
display
of Confederate symbols at his job site at a SONY plant. Sony personnel
indicated
to Burns officials that Storey's display of Confederate symbols violated
their new anti-harassment policy. When Storey refused to stop
displaying the flag on his car and lunchbox he was terminated. Burns
Security euphemistically calls Storey's dismissal a "resignation."
The claim cites discrimination based on race, religion and national
origin. Storey considers himself a Christian Confederate Southern
American. The SLRC is non-profit, tax exempt, South Carolina
public law firm that specializes in cases involving Southern Heritage
violations.
