SLRC Condemns Hatred Against
UDC Over Virginia Pledge

Black Mountain, NC - The Board of the Southern Legal Resource Center condemns in the strongest possible terms the display of hatred and contempt against the United Daughters of the Confederacy as shamefully displayed by members of the Virginia House of Delegates opposed to the current Pledge to the Virginia Pledge.

By condemning the pledge simply because it was written 50 years ago by a UDC members is a brazen display of prejudice and bigotry not seen since the demise of Jim Crow.

The rights and honor of Confederate Southern Americans everywhere are affected by this attempt to demonize the ladies of the UDC.

That the House of delegates is seriously considering kowtowing to this mass of ignorance and change the Pledge to satisfy the latest holdup orchestrated by the NAACP shows how close to Edward Gibbon's masterpiece the State of Virginia is.

The Southern Legal Resource Center calls on all its Virginia supporters to call and protest this outrage, and whatever, the House of Delegates does, to continue to say the old pledge.

The SLRC is non-profit, tax exempt, South Carolina public law firm that specializes in cases involving Southern Heritage violations.
