March Across Dixie Begins Sunday

 

Asheville, NC -  H.K. Edgerton's March Across Dixie begins at 2:00PM, Sunday October 13, 2002 at the Vance Monument in Downtown Asheville North Carolina.  The Public is invited.  Bring your flags.

Recently elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the SLRC, Edgerton, wearing a Confederate uniform and carrying a Confederate flag, will make the 3 month, 1350 mile sojourn across Dixie to raise awareness for the importance of preserving Southern heritage and to raise money for the Heritage Defense funds of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Southern Legal Resource Center.

 

The money will be raised by tax deductible pledges of at least $1.00 per mile, whether it be for one mile or the entire 1,350 miles.

 

A prayer service will be held Sunday to ask God's blessing on the March. H.K. will not march on the Sabbath, the actual march will commence Monday morning the 14th , at 6AM at the Vance monument. The first days march will take him to Hendersonville, NC.
