SLRC Weekly
Update
Dear Compatriots:
Greetings to everyone! I trust that
everyone has had a great week and I'm sure we are all preparing to send the
kids back to school if yours have not started back already! I am glad
to be back in the swing of things after my maternity leave. You may or
may not have heard the good news. Chuck and I were blessed a third
time on July 19th with our little boy, Jackson Knox Schaum. He weighed
in at 8 pounds and three ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. His older
siblings, Madeline, age six and Charles, age three are receiving him
well! Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this
wonderful event in our lives!
Kirk and his family are in Austin, TX.
While visiting his father, he will be working on the Hays County case,
Plaques case and the Corsican case. Please pray for safe travel for he
and his family.
Lawrence County
We will be serving the defendant's in this
case in the next week. We will keep you posted as events unfold.
Castorina
We were ordered by the judge to offer
settlement terms in this case and opposing counsel has sent a counter
proposal for settlement that is not far from the terms that we set
forth. If a settlement cannot be reached then the case will proceed to
trial on September 11th. It should also be noted that Hank Willliams,
Jr.'s. designer of the t-shirt worn by Castorina is fully cooperating with
us in this case. Stay tuned.
Hays County
We will be filing discovery on the defendants
in the Hays County case next week and should begin taking depositions in
September.
Plaques
The deposition for the Chief Justice will be
taken soon in the Plaques case.
Although school is just now getting started
the phones are already ringing non stop. Schools are banning
Confederate symbols from the classrooms while students are allowed to wear
sexually explicit shirts and every culture is welcome but the Southern
Culture. The summer time and beginning of the school year is when we
stay the busiest yet the funds come to a grinding halt. We cannot
continue without your help! We cannot face our enemy with blanks for
ammo! Help enable us to fight from day to day and build our war
chest! Your tax deductible contribution is needed today!!!
