SLRC Weekly Update
Dear Heritage Supporters:
Greetings Confederates! Welcome to the year
two thousand three! Mercy it seems unreal! We have more good
news to report on the benefits of Castorina! Also, the March
Across Dixie is going well. HK will be crossing into the Texas
this weekend.
March Across Dixie
HK started back from a holiday break on Monday.
He has had a great week and is will be attending the welcoming ceremony
into Texas on Saturday at Logansport around lunch time. If you're
anywhere near Logansport, it's sure to be a great time so come on out
and meet HK. Also attending the ceremony in Logansport will be Commander
in Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Ron Wilson, and a host of
dignitaries from Texas & Louisiana Division!
You may still order a video of the march and
reserve your flag. There are still flags available so make your
request today by calling 828-669-5189. It's not too late to make
pledges to HK's March Across Dixie! PLEDGE

Castorina
If you supported us in the 5 year battle over the
Castorina case, here is yet another trophy to add to the collection!
Talladega County schools in Alabama are now in compliance with the
Castorina case. Patrick Reaves, MOSB, met with Chairman of the
Talladega County School Board and the chairman informed Reaves that the
superintendent had sent a letter to all schools in Talladega County to
inform all teachers and principals that the banning of Confederate and
other heritage symbols is now prohibited. We are more than happy
to arm heritage officers with this powerful packet. NOTE THAT
ALABAMA IS IN THE 11TH CIRCUIT, NOT THE 6TH!!! Your state doesn't
have to be under the 6th Circuit's jurisdiction to receive this powerful
packet. We have a Federal lawsuit against Lawrence County, Alabam
Schools (less than 100 miles away). It will be interesting to see
how Talladega's decision impacts our case in Lawrence County.
Also this week I reviewed all heritage violation
cases in different states and found one in March of 2002 in Ohio.
I contacted the young man in Licking County and he is still very
interested in displaying his Confederate heritage. I also
contacted Commander Sharp and I have mailed both Commander Sharp and the
young man a Castorina packet. I will keep you informed as to what
unfolds. They will be meeting with the superintendent soon.
What a great way to start off the new year! Your
pledges and donations are hard at work here at the Southern Legal
Resource Center. Who better to send your first charity money to
than us?
