SLRC Weekly Update

Dear Heritage Supporters:

     This has been a great week for the Southern Legal Resource Center.  H.K. Edgerton and Terry Lee Edgerton wrapped up the March Across Dixie.  The ceremony in Austin was very cold but H.K. heated things up with his powerful speech.  We will be extending the time for donations for the march until the middle of march.  We want to give everyone the opportunity to donate and to make this march a financial record breaker!! Anything you need to know about the march, you can find here.  You may still order a video of the march and reserve your flag (Better hurry, now that the march is over, the prices are going up).  There are still flags available so make your request today by calling 828-669-5189.  It's not too late to make pledges to HK's March Across Dixie!  PLEDGE TODAY!!!

Dorchester County

DuBose Middle School in Summerville, SC has instituted a ban on Confederate symbols.  The parents have banded together and Kirk and Larry Salley will be meeting with parents this weekend.  We will keep you posted as details unfold.

Johnston County

This story is proof that parents can be very effective when armed with knowledge and the determination to make things right! Terry Shelton is a parent in Johnston County and his child attends Clayton High School.  When the school instituted a ban on Confederate symbols Shelton became determined to overturn the ban.  Shelton began to do his homework and met with the school attorney.  He cited Tinker vs. Des Moines.  After consideration the school overturned the ban and the attorney said any future bans would go through him first.  Also, any problems with Confederate symbols would be dealt with on an individual basis. Congratulations to Mr. Shelton!  This is a victory for Southerners and ALL Americans!
