SLRC Weekly Update

Dear Heritage Defenders:

This has been a busy week for the us. Kirk will be attending a meeting between parents, students and concerned citizens in Beaufort County next week. The situation has not improved in any way in Beaufort. In some cases, students cannot even speak the word "Confederate." Yet of course they are allowed to use four letter words regularly.

A rally is being held in Richmond, VA this weekend. Please read the following and if you are within driving distance, COME ON OUT!

Richmond, VA

It is very important that if you are within driving distance to be present in Richmond this weekend.  Kirk, HK Edgerton, and families are on their way to Richmond to display their opposition to the placing of a Lincoln statue by the Richmond National Battlefield Park Service at Tredegar Iron Works.  This is nothing but a slap in the face to all Confederate-Southern Americans.  Erecting a statue of Lincoln in Richmond, VA would be similar to erecting a statue of Stalin next to the Statue of Liberty!  We must all turn out in the droves for this march!

Here are the details: On April 5, Saturday, the SCV is holding a heritage rally at the Hollywood Cemetery by the gravesite of President Jefferson Davis. The rally begins at 12:30 and will end around 2:30. SCV Commander in Chief Ron Wilson, VA Division Commander Brag Bowling and Past Commander of Heritage Defense Roger Macredie will be speaking. After the rally, Southern Heritage groups will be protesting the Lincoln Statue near the unveiling at Tredegar.  On Sunday, April 6th there will be a Confederate Heritage Parade sponsored by the SCV.  The parade will begin in front of the Virginia Historical Society Building at 12:00 Noon and will carry on down Monument Avenue where it will end at the Hollywood Cemetery. COME OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR CONFEDERATE HERITAGE!
