Dear Heritage Defenders:
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful week. Last week we
were all in Asheville at the National Reunion and it sure was a busy
week! It was absolutely wonderful to meet so many people that I
have emailed and telephoned! Our CLE Seminar was spectacular. We
had around 25-30 people in attendance. Everyone that attended talked
about how helpful and educational the course was. We do plan on
having another seminar next year and we do hope that you will make plans
to attend.
Kirk and HK are currently at the SCV Youth Camp in Alabama.
Last night Kirk gave a program on Confederate symbols and schools to
around forty young men. HK followed with an inspirational program!
The young fellows really seemed to enjoy it!
Logan County Schools
Many of you remember two weeks ago when I reported this:
Logan County schools in Kentucky will possibly be added to the
growing list of bloodless victories because of the favorable Castorina
ruling. Let me give you a bit of background information. Some time
ago a student was tragically killed that was a current student at Logan
County schools. The young student frequently wore Confederate flag
shirts. To honor this student’s memory, many students decided to
wear Confederate flag shirts to school. Logan County school
officials told students they were not to wear any more Confederate
symbols. SCV members, Don Shelton and Fred Wilhite have been
vigorously working to ensure that Castorina is enforced in Logan County.
We are proud to announce that a verbal agreement has been reached to
allow shirts back in and we are currently working on a written
agreement. We will keep you posted as details unfold.
As it turns out the school officials that we were dealing with had no
intention of complying with Castorina. We had spoken with the
superintendent, Marshall Kemp and the principal of Logan County High
School. Both of these men assured us of their compliance! As
of this week, many students have been sent home and made to change
shirts. We will keep you posted as we tackle this issue with our
full power.
FAA Lawsuit
Opposing counsel in our FAA Case filed a motion to dismiss and we
filed an amended complaint adding 23 affidavits. The court
dismissed opposing counsel’s motion to dismiss as moot. We will
keep you informed as details unfold
