SLRC Weekly Update
Greetings Compatriots:
HAPPY 76th BIRTHDAY to Lt. Col. Jay Lyons, father of Kirk D. Lyons. Best wishes Colonel!
DuPont Update
I do hope that everyone has had a wonderful week. This has been a whirlwind of a week for the SLRC. We have had our nose to the grindstone since January 20th working all hours of the night responding to DuPont's
motions.
On Tuesday DuPont filed a motion seeking attorney's fees and expenses totaling of $62,229.74 against the DuPont 7 plaintiffs and their attorney, SLRC Chief Trial Counsel Kirk D. Lyons. Is it fair? No!
Is it just? No! Is this the real world we are living in? Yes! Time to wake up folks.
Why is this happening?
Because DuPont wants to make sure Confederate Southern-Americans never pose a threat to their "we-are-the-world" multinational worker's paradise. Everybody can have heritage and everybody can be proud of who they
are - unless their ancestor was a Confederate-scumbag-slave holding-hate-filled-criminal-murderer - who smokes cigarettes - pollutes the environment - home schools their kids-believes in the 2nd Amendment-and eats red meat
and allows their wife wear fur. No, people like that have NO rights & SHOULD NOT have any rights - certainly not any rights DuPont is bound to respect.
The DuPont 7 must bend the knee. They must be punished. They must pay. Paying DuPont's legal fees now....Loss of jobs later? These things must happen so none of the thousands of other timid DuPont
employees ever rise up to challenge DuPont's anti-Confederate bigotry. Get used to it comrade.
Do I exaggerate? Let me know the answer to that question in 5 years when that much more of our precious Confederate heritage is wiped away by our apathy, indolence and stinginess, especially if the SLRC and the DuPont 7
go down to a crushing defeat because no one would help them. Well friends, go ahead and ignore us on this one. Forget the DuPont 7, but if the Confederate community does not help these men now - they should
forever hold their collective heads in shame! I'm a woman of no special education, ability or courage and I can see the path of duty clear as a bell. Why can't the men of the SCV see it?
We have been preparing financial affidavits for all seven (7) plaintiffs and also for Executive Director Rick Wilkerson and Kirk D. Lyons. While DuPont's current brief places the majority of the "blame" of bringing such
a "frivolous" and "unreasonable" suit on Kirk, the seven plaintiffs are also named. Never before has the SLRC been faced with such absolute hatred in a lawsuit by opposing counsel. Every word by opposing
counsel is dripping with disdain for those that are proud of their heritage.
DuPont's Motion spends a good bit of time haranguing the SCV as well. The affidavits filed by CiC Wilson, VA Div Cdr Bowling, Chaplain in Chief Weaver and others are just "69 pages of SCV argument and propaganda," 17
wholly irrelevant affidavits of various individuals who purport to be members of the SCV... these affidavits are replete with SCV dogma and theory." Don't know why DuPont has to hire such high-dollar lawyers to write
this drivel for them when any Richmond Times Dispatch editor or Democratic presidential hopefuls would do it for free.
This week our work has been nerve-wracking and sometimes depressing. It's hard to sleep when a federal court may put you out of work in less than a week - and no one out in the Confederate community seems to think
anything is amiss. Working into the late hours of the night and waking before the sun comes up to keep on - all our responses had to be filed today! Only three days to respond. Finally we sign and FedEx a
21-page response with nine (9) affidavits attached. This type of work is routine for large law firms, (like
DuPont's counsel - two large firms one in Richmond, the other in
Charleston, Western Virginia), but is hell on small firms like the SLRC with limited funds and very small staff.
And all the while donations are at a standstill.
Next week Kirk is to travel to Richmond for the hearing with no money for travel expenses. We also have a staggering research bill piling up. Folks we are all Christians and eternal optimists around here, but that
will only go so far. DONATE FOR THIS MOST IMPORTANT CASE TODAY. THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER!
Oral arguments are scheduled on January 30th at the Old Confederate Treasury building in downtown Richmond - Ironic isn't it? The address is 1000 East Main Street in Richmond, VA. The hearing will be held
on the 1st floor at 2:00 pm.
Message to the DuPont lawyers: I know your staff is monitoring this site very carefully - so please spell my name correctly the next time you file your next red-herring tattle-tale, i.e. that the SLRC is saying
bad things about DuPont, with the court:
Allison Jill Schaum
....and remember - I'm saying these things, not Mr. Lyons, and if the shoe fits.....
Curt Storey
CURT STOREY'S appeal of his firing by Burn's International Security, (now owned by the Pinkerton Agency), is scheduled to be argued by Chief Trial Counsel Lyons before a panel of the 3rd Circuit US Court of Appeals in
Philadelphia, PA on ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY, February 12, 2004. Storey was fired because he refused to remove a Confederate flag from his lunchbox and a "Heritage not Hate" sticker from his bumper on Sony
property, (where Imperial Japanese Battleflags fly in office cubicles).
March to the Sea
HK Edgerton, (you know, that Black Confederate who DuPont would have you believe doesn't exist), will be marching to Charleston, SC to arrive in time for the Hunley crew funeral. He is scheduled to leave on March
12 from Marion, NC at the historic 1793 Carson House. HK will be making his way from Marion to Rutherfordton, Sulphur Springs, Chesnee, Spartanburg, Woodruff, Laurens, Newberry, Chapin, Columbia, Orangeburg, Summerville,
and Charleston where he will arrive on April 12 at the Battery facing Ft. Sumter.
HK is conducting this march to raise money for heritage defense and to honor the brave men of the Hunley.
Heritage groups along the way will be contacted for help. If you or your camp would like to offer help prior to the march contact myself at 864-476-0656 or Rick Wilkerson at 828-669-5189. I am encouraging ALL
South Carolina SCV camp members to help out if you are called upon and also pledge with camp donations. This is sure to be a most exciting march!
There will be a kick off for the March to the Sea on March 12th at the home of Rick and Jeannie Wilkerson in Black Mountain, NC. All are invited to attend. Cost is $20. Please RSVP Neill Payne at 828-664-0004.
Let's all attend and show our support for HK!
We are also pleased to announce that a website dedicated to this march will be up and running very soon. Stay tuned for all the details!
