SLRC Weekly Update
Greetings Compatriots:
Hello. I hope that all of you are doing well. The SLRC has been working around the clock this week preparing affidavits in the DuPont case.
Before I update everyone I wanted to take the time to give a brief thanks. This past week has been a very encouraging week for us. We have had many people seemingly come out of the woodwork lending their support
either by kind words of encouragement, donations and Sky Miles donations. If every week’s donations were like this week’s, we could throw our weight around like DuPont has.
I just want to encourage those of you that donated this week to continue your support. It means more than you know.
DuPont
This week we stayed busy preparing supplemental financial affidavits for all seven plaintiffs. We will be filing the affidavits on Monday morning.
We still have not yet heard a dollar figure from the judge. We do expect to hear next week and we will let you know as soon as possible. We appreciate everyone’s continued support!
Curtis Storey
Kirk will fly to Philadelphia on Sunday. The hearing is scheduled for February 9th at 9:30 am. Kirk will be arguing the merits of this case in front of a three-judge panel.
For those of you that do not know the background information. Curtis Storey was a security guard for Burns International Security Services at the Sony Plant near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was fired after many
loyal years of service and all because he displayed Confederate bumper stickers on his car and the Confederate flag on his personal lunchbox.
Curtis said the essence of his continued refusal to remove the stickers was this, "Our forefathers paid heavily, even with their lives, to make secure for us certain rights, one of which Burns was attempting to intimidate me
into surrendering. I will not surrender any right valiant men and women gave so much to protect for me!"
We will keep you posted!
March to the Sea
H.K. will be marching to Charleston, SC to arrive in time for the Hunley funeral. He is scheduled to leave on March 12 from Marion, NC at the 1793 Carson House. H.K. will be making his way from Marion to
Rutherfordton, Sulphur Springs, Chesnee, Spartanburg, Woodruff, Laurens, Newberry, Chapin, Columbia, Orangeburg, Summerville, and Charleston where he will arrive on April 12 at the Battery facing Ft Sumter.
H.K. is conducting this march to raise money for heritage defense and to honor the brave men of the Hunley.
Those of you that want to walk with HK, please contact Rick Wilkerson at 828-712-5810 or email him at: rickwikerson@bellsouth.net

South Carolina SCV camp members to help out if you are called upon and also pledge with camp donations. This is sure to be a most exciting march!
There will be a kick off for the March to the Sea on March 12th at the home of Rick and Jeannie Wilkerson in Black Mountain, NC. All are invited to attend. Cost is $20. There is still time to put your name down.
Please RSVP Neill Payne at 828-664-0004. Let’s all attend and show our support for HK!
If you belong to a ladies auxiliary group, SCV camp, order, etc and would be interested in holding a type of fundraiser for HK while he is on his way or when he arrives in Charleston, please contact Allison Schaum for
