J. Pat Baughman Presents
The Great
Confederate Colony Land Rush!
Your chance to buy a beautiful piece of property
in a lovely Confederate-oriented neighborhood
at AUCTION
… and help further the work of
The Southern Legal Resource Center!
For Southern loyalists, it’s the chance of a lifetime – the
opportunity to live among other Southern patriots, in a picture book
setting, and benefit the work of the SLRC, the only law firm
concerned solely with defending Confederate heritage!
J. Pat’s Confederate Colony is located on Pea Ridge near
Lawrenceburg, TN, in the geographical center of the Confederacy.
It’s in rolling countryside where clear, cold, spring-fed creeks
ripple among hills and hollows filled with stand of beech, hickory,
oak and poplar. And it just
happens to be in one of the lowest cost-of-living areas in the
South.
Here you can build your own home, exactly to suit your family’s own
needs and wishes. (Conventional restrictions apply as to noise
abatement and number and types of animals allowable. The only
architectural restriction, in keeping with the Confederate Colony’s
vision and purpose, is on “modern” exterior design. There are no
inspections to deal with, other than a standard health department
check – water is by spring or well and the sewage system is
individual septic tank. Electrical systems, of course, must conform
to local codes.) You may use your own contractor, or J. Pat will
contract your home for you using Amish and other local craftsmen to
keep costs under 10 cents per
board foot! Want to build-it-yourself? The Colony has
miter and table saws, air hammers, trailers, and even its own
backhoe, road grader and dump truck available for use in your
construction. The Colony even makes its own concrete from local
sand and gravel!
The Confederate Colony offers several exciting extras to residents,
including a beautiful park on Spring Creek featuring fishing, a
swimming hole, and even a waterfall. There are also hiking and
bridle trails. A community meeting house, Capt. Bill Forrest
Memorial Hall, is also under construction.
And
In keeping with the Confederate
tradition of truly representative government, ownership of property
in the Confederate Colony entitles you to be a voting member of the
Colony Council, the owners’ association which sets and protects
reasonable community rules and regulations.
About the property being offered
The property being offered at auction is 3 wooded acres fronting on
Confederate Way and Forrest Trail (see map [hyperlink to map on scv
website] or at
www.confederatecolony.org). The lot has a level building site
surrounded by tall trees next to Forrest Trail. It is triangular in
shape, with a lovely little hollow on one side of the triangle.
This parcel is valued at $8,500.00.
BUT BEST OF ALL: The amount of your bid may be applied to
ANY available property in the
Confederate Colony! If, after exploring our site (or visiting in
person) you wish to trade sites or purchase additional acreage, the
amount of your bid can simply be applied to the price of the lot(s)
of your choice!
How to bid on this exciting offer
From this website, click “contacts”, choose “Executive
Director” from the dropdown department menu, and send us a message
containing the amount of your bid.* Or visit the Confederate Colony
website (www.confederatecolony.org)
check out the plot map and send your e-mail bid from there.
Bidders will be entered on a special e-mail list and you will be
kept informed of bidding progress so that you may bid again using
the same procedure. BIDDING WILL CEASE AT MIDNIGHT, FRIDAY, MARCH
25th, 2005. AN OPENING BID OF $2,000 HAS ALREADY BEEN
RECEIVED. THERE IS A
RESERVE PRICE OF $6,000.00
*Bids must be received in increments of $500.
Don’t miss this chance to obtain a beautiful piece of Confederate
Colony property at AUCTION – and remember, all proceeds go to
further the work of the Southern legal Resource Center, the nation’s
only legal organization devoted solely to the defense of Southern
culture and heritage!

Last week and next week: On the Road Again …
On
Wednesday, Kirk
and his two oldest sons
were
on hand in Columbia, TN, for the chancery court hearing in the
matter of the SCV General Executive Council case. On Sunday, he and
Roger will journey to
Prattville, AL, to brief the SCV’s Alabama Division on the status of
White v. Nichols, the
Lawrence County schools case. On March 18,
Kirk will be in Jacksonville, FL, for oral arguments in
the FAA case (see Case Notes).
Roger and H.K. are on standby to go to Charlotte in
connection with the city’s removal of the Confederate flag from
Elmwood Cemetery, which the SLRC has already warned them is probably
legally actionable.
Meanwhile, Roger
has received our consultants’ 2005 fundraising plan and is preparing
to send it to the Board of Directors. His comment: “This is a
fantastic plan to raise desperately needed funds for the SLRC. Now
all we need is the money to implement it.”
CASE NOTES
FAA:
Oral Arguments for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals are scheduled
for 3-18-05 in Jacksonville, FL.
Lawrence
County: Motion for Summary Judgment has been filed and we
are waiting to hear back from the judge in the US Dist. Court for
the Northern Dist. of AL. Feeling really good about this case.
Jaqueline Duty: Pre-Trial Discovery Scheduling Order hearing set in
Ashland, KY for Monday, March 28.
Several ongoing
school investigations,
including:
Jackson County,
MO--Justin Williams (young SCV officer) has received 2 F's on
projects including the Confederate flag and one project was even
destroyed by the principal.
Green County, KY--one young man's
mother contacted us because one student in the school was offended
by the flag therefore the school initiated a schoolwide ban to
appease this one girl. We have contacted the school on this family's
behalf.
